About Attica Zoological Park
Attica Zoological Park (AZP) is a private zoo located in the suburb of Spata, approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of Athens. It is the only zoo in Greece and is home to over 1,500 animals representing 220 species, spread across a 20-hectare (49-acre) area. The zoo is open 365 days a year and is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and the European Association of Aquatic Mammals (EAAM).

Opened in May 2000, the zoo initially focused on avian species, hosting the third-largest bird collection in the world with 1,100 birds from 300 species. It also featured farm animals for young visitors and three impressive walk-in aviaries representing Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
